At Falcon Junior, Languages in Key Stage 2 focuses on enabling pupils to make progress in one language: French. Our teaching strikes an appropriate balance of spoken and written language. We aim to lay secure foundations for continued learning of a foreign language in Key Stage 3. We use routines and situations that are familiar to children to aid in improving their knowledge of grammatical structures, phonology and vocabulary.
By the end of Year 6, we want our pupils to be able to understand and communicate a range of ideas, facts, opinions and feelings in another language-both written and orally.
